MEET THE FOUNDERS
QUI WINGFIELD & SERENTY MARIE
Serenity and I founded Cool Moms Dance Too! out of need to stay connected following the loss of my life partner in January 2013, who was also the father of my two beautiful daughters. We found that community, communication and dance have helped us get through this heart-breaking loss together.
It all started one evening, when I decided to join in with their dancing session at home. We didn’t know it at the time, but this event changed everything.
After we finished, the girls sat down on my bed and told me about a school bully they had been dealing with for the past month. I realized that she suddenly felt comfortable talking to me, and so we started dancing together on a regular basis. It became our therapy, and I saw a huge improvement in my body, overall wellbeing and the relationship between my daughters and me.
Since founding the AFAA/NASM-approved Cool Moms Dance Too!, we have worked with thousands of families, with some having even gone on to participate in performances at sports games, live tours and mental health conferences.
Being on this journey to shift the world towards becoming happier, healthier and more whole with Serenity has been a beautiful experience.
MEET THE CHOREOGRAPHERS
CICI KELLEY & CHLOE OLIVIA DONALD
CiCi is a professional hip-hop, jazz and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and professor at the historic Spelman College.
Her choreography career includes films, national commercials, halftime entertainment and on music tours. CiCi danced alongside Beyoncé at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and has also featured in music videos with LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez and Outkast.
Her daughter, Chloe Olivia, is an incredibly talented 8-year-old who loves to dance, do gymnastics and act as soon as the camera starts rolling. Like her mother, dance has always come naturally to Chloe Olivia – and she’s always ready to put on a show whenever an audience is around! Her accomplishments to-date include national commercials for Gas South and Chuck E. Cheese, as well as trophies and awards from various major dance competitions and conventions.
With the help of CiCi Kelley and Chloe Olivia, Cool Moms Dance Too! offers families the opportunity to improve connections with one another in a fun, dance-filled way!
