Dance as Therapy
Dance Therapy is explained as movement supporting emotional, cognitive and physical well-being.
We believe the spirit, mind and body are all connected and by aligning all three, individuals can attain harmony. Dance can become a catalyst to release energy built up within oneself.
Via Cool Moms Dance Too, we explore dance as a form of therapy to give families an outlet to communicate feelings and emotions into energy in motion as a group.
We have started a practice of Dance as Therapy in which families and communities get together and express their emotions via dance utilizing fun and/or peaceful instrumental music. The reason we ask you to use instrumental music is because we would like each member to connect with themselves as much as possible. We believe music accompanying words have an impact to create thoughts and feelings. The goal is to tap into your own thoughts and feelings removing the influence of other thoughts in feelings translated into words.
